All by ourselves at Harvey.

Megan Kelly, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Maybe it was the cold? Maybe the wind? The usually large cornices at the ridgetops were being cut back from the reverse wind direction today. The snowpack is generally right side up and is skiing well in most places. However we were avoiding slopes with reactive wind slabs in the alpine and treeline. The December facet/surface hoar interface is down about 80 cm. The November crust is down 170 cm. Lets hope this cold snap disappears soon. But until then enjoy the sun and powder without the crowds.
