We went for a look at Sheol Valley up to Surprise Pass this afternoon. Cold but calm day up in Sheol Valley. Unfortunately, none of the slopes on the way to Surprise Pass were in any good shape. Crusty at best, wind slabs or wind swept most of the way. The descent down Surprise pass was comprised mostly of breakable crust and wind-swept hard snow. The last third was full of frozen debris from previous slides.
