In sintesi

A steady trickle of snow, cold temperatures and dutiful W-NW wind will keep avalanche risk elevated in steep terrain near and above treeline.

A winter storm warning remains in effect through 10 AM PST Monday.

West-Northwest winds have been incessant for the last several days, and today won't be an exception. Active wind loading onto N-NW-NE-E-SE-S facing slopes is certain. Cornice formation has been good, and cracking/blocking of the snowpack on small test slopes and along ridges has been noted. Be cautious in steep, windy terrain near and above treeline. Test for wind slabs by stomping on wind drifts and roll-overs in SAFE terrain. If you see blocking or shooting cracks, then wind slabs may be forming in terrain near you.
