Precipitation in October and November has brought a solid base of snow to Mount Shasta, though warmer weather is melting it out near and below treeline.The Old Ski Bowl has about 22 inches of snow. Expect areas of exposed rock and buried obstacles. Some folks are still finding corn-like conditions up high for skiing but plan on hiking your skis in from Bunny Flat. Exercise caution everywhere. Coverage and snow surfaces are variable.
Bunny Flat has become a high use area particulary on weekends and holidays. Please be respectiveful of one another and the area. Tree cutting and 4x4 shenanigans are not allowed. Review your christmas tree permit and motorized vehicle use maps. Bunny Flat is not on them.
