In sintesi

We've gone to LOW avalanche danger today, but remember, this does not mean NO avalanche danger. Small avalanches in isolated areas or steep, extreme terrain could be possible. Evaluate carefully. Mother Nature is going to turn up the northwest wind knob for the next ~48 hours. Watch for wind loading near and above treeline from increasing NW wind.

Northwest winds will increase today through Saturday morning. While much of the snowpack has been capped off by the freezing fog crust, upper elevations could still have snow available for wind transport. We have not obtained much data from above treeline regions due to poor visibility lately. Some uncertainty exists there. Evaluate wind loaded areas carefully as you transition from near to above treeline. Pay particular attention in extreme terrain or on unsupported slopes. Test for wind slabs by stomping on wind drifts and roll-overs in safe terrain. If you see blocking or shooting cracks, then wind slabs may be present in terrain near you. Stay clear of cornices.
