In sintesi

A fine Sunday, be wary of afternoon warmth and potential for green housing with developing cloud!

Problemi valanghivi

  • Wind Slabs

    • Tutte le quote
    Probabilità
    Unlikely
    Dimensione
    1

Wind Slabs will be unlikely to trigger. Westerly wind will redistribute snow any new snow onto the E 1/2. Look for blowing snow as a key sign hazard is increasing.

  • Loose Wet

    • Tutte le quote
    Probabilità
    Possible
    Dimensione
    1.5

Loose Wet avalanches will certainly be possible across the W 1/2. Any dry snow will rapidly warm with the forecasted increase in freezing level. Avoid steep, rocky terrain especially in the afternoon.

Sliding Danger

Terrain expose to previous gale winds has the rain crust at the surface. Assess before ending up on steep slope, a set of crampons and an axe may come in handy.

Forecast Confidence

Moderate

  • We are uncertain due to rapidly changing freezing levels.

Recent Avalanche Activity

None reported in the past 48 hours.

Current Snowpack Conditions

10cm on Friday night came in with significant wind. Any dry snow has been deposited into stubborn drifts in very sheltered terrain. Elsewhere the rain crust from July 15th will be exposed. Underneath the rain crust, there is no significant layering of note, with the snowpack below this well consolidated through to ground.

Mountain Weather

Sunday: Fine with high cloud developing. Westerly 1/4 winds increase to moderate. FAFL up as high as 2600m.
