With strong winds over the last few days, small isolated hard slabs may exist at higher elevations from strong winds.

6cm of snow fell on the 17th withg little wind. Thei fell on a snowpack that haz been wind blowen and warmed, a consolidated snowpack.
Fine until early evening then some snow. Northwesterlies developing. Winds rising to westerly 80 km/h in the early evening. Freezing level rising to 3500 metres in the afternoon.
The melt-freeze cycle has been happening the last few days. Crampons and an ice axe are a good idea for backcountry travel.
