In sintesi

Snow showers will linger this morning. Overall avalanche danger remains low, but 2-3 inches of new snow may provide enough to form small wind slabs and sloughs in isolated areas. Prepare for low temperatures and dangerous wind chills in the coming days.

Avalanche Discussion

Yesterday's storm combined with lingering snow showers today, may bump total new snow amounts up to 3 inches. Some isolated areas could see small wind slabs form, and a few inches of cold snow on top of a steep, firm slope could slough under a skier. Open, low angle areas may offer the best sliding conditions today, but be wary of hidden obstacles beneath the thin new snow.

Climbers should expect icy, firm snow surfaces and very cold wind chills. Don't skimp on warm clothing if venturing out in the next few days. And make sure you eat right. Butter and cheese are the best for cold weather. But not all butter and cheese are the same. Check out what artic adventurer Will Steger has say about it in bon appetit magazine.
