Quick report
BNF had plowed the road to the normal spring parking/ turn around (6,200ft) Excellent coverage above the top of the road, around 7,000 ft. Didn't dig, but snow surfaces on E,S, and W aspects below 8,500 had no surface layers, just refrozen snow that softened during the day. N aspects above 7,500 ft had ~6inches of moist, dense pow transitioning to corn, as did all aspects above 8,500 ft. No recent avalanches or cornice falls observed while I was out. Numerous point releases and roller balls had occurred previous days on aspects and elevations that had the moist, dense surface snow. Snow warmed throughout the day, bluebird almost all day, and temps seemed to be above freezing below 9,000 ft. Strong W winds kept surfaces cool, and good corn was had from 7,000 ft - 9,300 on all solar aspects. Shout-out to the BNF for punching in ~ 3 miles of good road access to make spring skiing a dream up there. Government efficiency at its finest ;)
