Warm day time temperatures and the cool night time temperatures have the mountain in a reasonable melt freeze process especially on lower elevations. This meaning care is required with the changing conditions at different time of day plus the aspect and elevation variations. Remembering small avalanches can have high consequence depending on the terrain.

Recent Avalanche Activity

No human-triggered or naturally triggered avalanches have been reported or observed over the past 24 hours.

Current Snowpack Conditions

A moist snow pack is gaining strengthen due to cold night temperatures providing the freeze. Northerly facing surfaces will lose some cohesion during daylight hours but mainly on slopes below 1700m. Meltfreeze process should repeat it self for the rest of the week with this weather pattern.

Mountain Weather

Gale Northerlys are forecasted for Friday with a rising freezing level and showers.

Sliding Danger

Firm in the early hours of the morning after an overnight freeze

Forecast Confidence

Moderate
