Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Slab avalanches could be human triggered in cliff areas and the steep wind loaded starting zones of avalanche paths at higher elevations and in steep gullies. As temperatures rise in the mountains this afternoon point releases and wet sloughs are expected on steep slopes with cornices or cliff bands that face south. These could release naturally or by skiers, snowboarders or snowmachiners and should be avoided later today.
