Highlights

Wind slab continues to develop on lee aspects by moderate SW winds. Avoid steep wind-loaded slopes especially above terrain traps, cliffs and other similar hazards.

Avalanche problems

    Unlikely - Possible

Moderate SW winds have been building thin wind slabs on lee slopes and terrain features in the alpine. Slopes look thick and pillowy, but no avalanches were observed and we did not observe any cracking or other signs of propagation on these slabs.
  • Deep Persistent Slabs

    • Alpine
    • Treeline
    • Below treeline
    Likelihood
    Unlikely - Possible

All though few and far between, large avalanches continue to be observed by large loads (large cornice fall) on this layer. Corniced steep slopes on rocky terrain should be avoided.
