Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. New snow and strong winds will cause new surface slabs to form and cause an increasing avalanche hazard today. These slabs will form on an unstable snowpack comprised largely of weak, faceted snow as well as some crusts on slopes with Southerly aspects. Backcountry travelers could trigger these slabs into avalanches today on steep terrain where the wind is loading the most snow.
