The General Avalanche Hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Recent strong west winds and snow have formed slabs that lie upon lighter snow, and buried weak, faceted snow such as surface hoar. This weakness deep in the snowpack will persist and slides over two feet in depth may be triggered by the second or later rider on a steep slope.
