The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW this morning as overnight freezing temperatures have hardened the snow surface and avalanche activity is unlikely. The hazard will rise to MODERATE this afternoon as rapidly warming temperatures weaken the snow surface and provide the possibility for human and naturally triggered wet slides on most aspects and elevations. Also at the higher elevations today strong winds will load the new snow into shallow surface slabs that may be human triggered.

Another stronger system is expected to bring significant snow to the higher elevations Saturday afternoon and night and light accumulations to the valleys. Saturdays highs should reach into the upper twenties at 9000'.
