Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. New snow and wind has deposited soft slabs to a foot in depth in steep wind loaded starting zones and cliff areas at higher elevations. These slabs lie on slick crusts and pockets of slab could be triggered today by backcountry users. As these slides gather volume and momentum the potential exists to pull out deeper weak layers of faceted snow.
