Surface hoar growth and surface faceting continue with cool and clear weather. A widespread crust likely exists on the surface in all but alpine, north-facing terrain. Variable wind-affected snow can be found in areas without a surface crust.
The mid and lower snowpack is dense and well-settled with no current concerns.
Wednesday Night
Mostly clear. 10 to 20 km/h west ridgetop wind. Potential for above freezing layer from 1300 to 2300 m.
Thursday
Mostly cloudy with up to 2 cm of snow on the north end of the Island. 20 to 40 km/h northwest ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature -1 °C.
Friday
Sunny. 30 to 50 km/h northwest ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature -3 °C.
Saturday
Sunny. 5 to 20 km/h northwest ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature -2 °C.
