Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Soft surface slabs to two feet in depth lie upon weak layers of buried surface hoar and hard old snow surfaces. In addition weak layers of faceted snow persist deep in the snowpack and near the ground. Backcountry users could trigger these surface slabs and/or deeper dangerous slabs in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain.
