Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE. Up to 30 inches of new snow has fallen in the past 36 hours. Last night a fast moving naturally released avalanche crossed the highway on Teton Pass. An avalanche warning has been issued by the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center for Salt River, Snake River, Wyoming and Teton Ranges. Dangerous slab avalanches and sluffs and up to three feet in depth are likely to be triggered by backcountry riders and riders and could release naturally. Once triggered these dangerous slabs and sluffs could run long distances.

Winds are to increase slightly and become Northerly overnight, then are to lessen to 10-15 mph averages during the day. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Considerable. Soft slabs with depths over two feet are expected to be easily triggered in steep avalanche terrain.
