Highlights

Low hazard does not me no hazard. Skiers and riders might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow slab up to six inches deep in steep, wind-loaded terrain at the higher elevations. On sunlit aspects, any extended periods of sunshine will increase the likelihood of triggering these slides along with chance for wet loose sluffing of the new snow.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Unsettled weather will continue into Thursday with two weak disturbances bringing partly to mostly cloudy skies and the chance for light, scattered showers. Precipitation will be in the form of snow in the mountains and a mix of rain and snow in the valleys. Overnight lows in the mountains will be around 20 before rising to near freezing during the day. Northwesterly ridgetop winds will back to the southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Thursday. Low hazard does not me no hazard.
