Highlights

The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW in the early morning as below freezing overnight temperatures have frozen the snow surface. The hazard will quickly rise to MODERATE by this afternoon as increasing temperatures and sunlight soften and weaken the snow surface. This heating of the snow will provide for the possibility of wet slides as well as the chance for larger loads such as snow machines to trigger deeper avalanches involving buried weak layers within the snowpack in steep, shaded avalanche paths.
