Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE in steep avalanche terrain where dense slabs formed by west to southwest winds up to three feet in depth lie upon weak faceted October snow. These dangerous slabs could be triggered by riders or skiers. Avalanches are unlikley in areas not underlain by weak faceted old snow layers.
