The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 8500 feet. Snowmobilers and skiers have the potential to trigger dense surface slabs to two feet in depth in steep wind loaded terrain. The possibility also continues for heavier loads to trigger deeper hard slabs in areas where a persistent weak layer exists near the base of the snowpack.

Highs are to be in the mid twenties and winds are to be southwesterly at ten to twenty miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate above 8000' on Saturday. Slabs that were very sensitive today will gain some strength however many will remain susceptible to human triggers and unstable areas will become more difficult to predict. In very steep avalanche terrain above 8000’ pockets of slab to two feet in depth may be triggered by one skier or after a slope has been crossed several times. In steep areas where the snowpack is shallow and underlain by weak basal layers and crusts, particularly in the Southwest Trails and Togwotee Pass areas, the potential also exists for larger loads such as snow machines to trigger deeper hard slabs with depths to an additional three feet.
