A dusting of snow will fall onto a hard melt-freeze crust. The snow surface will moisten with daytime warming and freeze into a crust at night.

The remainder of the snowpack is strong.

There is insufficient snow to form avalanches for most below treeline locations.

Cloudy with 1 to 3 cm of snow. 30 km/h west ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature -4 °C.

Tuesday

Clear skies. 20 to 30 km/h northwest ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature 0 °C. Freezing level rising to 1400 m.

Wednesday

Clear skies. 10 to 20 km/h northeast ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature 3 °C. Freezing level 1600 m.

Thursday

Clear skies. 10 to 20 km/h northeast ridgetop wind. Treeline temperature 5 °C. Freezing level 1700 m.

• When a thick, melt-freeze surface crust is present, avalanche activity is unlikely.
• Pay attention to cornices and give them a wide berth when traveling on or below ridges.
• Avoid terrain traps such as gullies and cliffs where the consequence of any avalanche could be serious.
