The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Dangerous slabs exist on a variety of aspects and elevations which overlie a weak faceted snowpack. The rotten, underlying snow makes a poor support for the load but may require a stronger trigger to initiate a slide like the second or later traveller on a slope.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. ) Northwest flow will continue bringing light snow flurries into Monday morning. 2 to 4 inches of light snow are forecasted to fall Monday into Monday night as a wave of moisture moves over the area from the Northwest.Temperatures will climb to just above 10 degrees f. and winds will be westerly at 20 to 30 mph. Slabs have settled and gained strength however they lie on a variety of weak snow surfaces particularly on steep northerly aspects. These firmer slabs may be released to depths greater than two feet and may require larger triggers like the second or later person on a slope. At low elevations the hazard will drop to LOW Monday. Isolated pockets remain in some steep, wind loaded areas that could be released by backcountry travellers.
