Highlights

It was a warm evening with a very light freeze below an elevation of 8,500 feet. Avalanches are unlikely at the upper elevations. Wet slides are a possibility on very steep slopes at the mid and lower elevations. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain where the snowpack is wet, loose and unconsolidated. The potential for snowmobilers to trigger very large persistent deep slab avalanches is unlikely but still a possibility. Glide avalanches are possible.

Along with colder temperatures widespread light snowfall is expected into Thursday. Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are anticipated. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Thursday. Temperatures will be in the 20's and 30's in the mountains. Winds will be light to moderate from the northwest.Cooler temperatures are likely to decrease the wet snow avalanche hazard in the mountains. A wet snow avalanche hazard may develop on very steep slopes at the lower elevations. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be low in the mountains and may increase to moderate at the lower elevations.
