Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Strong west winds have formed pockets of soft slab up to 18 inches in depth on leeward aspects. These slabs lie upon lighter density snow and slick hard old snow surfaces. Humans who ride or ski into steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones could trigger these slabs. If significant warming occurs these slabs and losse snow point slides could release naturally.
