Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist at all elevations. The general avalanche hazard is HIGH at all elevations and an avalanche warning remains in effect. Many slopes that are typically skied or rode are unstable and dangerous. Warm temperatures, heavy snowfall, strong winds and the possibility of rain presents the potential for widespread natural avalanche activity. Human triggered avalanches are very likely. Small avalanches are certain and many medium and some large avalanches are likely. Slab depths to six feet are possible at the mid and upper elevations. Large events could run full track and deposit huge volumes of debris in avalanche run-out zones. At the lower elevations wet slab and wet loose slides to the ground are likely. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )The next storm system is rapidly approaching and is expected to start warm and finish cold. Areas of light snowfall will develop and increase in intensity after midnight. Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall will occur on Saturday. New snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches with some favored areas receiving up to 24 inches are expected during the next 24 hours. Southwest winds at 20 to 30 with gusts to 40 miles per hour will accompany this snowfall. Temperatures in the mountains will rise from overnight lows in the upper teens into the upper 20s. Valley temperatures will be in the lows to mid 30s. The general avalanche is HIGH at all elevations and an avalanche warning remains in effect. The new snow, mild temperatures and strong winds will negatively impact an unstable snowpack. Dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Natural avalanches and human triggered slab avalanches are likely at all elevations and on a variety of aspects. Small avalanches are certain and many medium and some large avalanches are likely.
