Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW. Low does not mean no hazard exists and the possibility remains for backcountry riders and skiers to trigger isolated pockets of surface slab to eighteen inches in depth in steep wind loaded terrain near ridge crests. As new snow accumulates, the possibility to trigger small surface sloughs or very small slabs could exist later in the day.

Summit temperatures are to climb from the low teens at the onset of the snow into the mid twenties during the afternoon. Winds during the day are to be Southwesterly at 15-25 mph.The avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the morning throughout Western Wyoming. The hazard is expected to increase slowly as new snow accumulates and forms new shallow surface slabs during the day.
