Highlights

The general avalanche hazard remains MODERATE but will increase as the day progresses. Strong southwest to west winds have formed new soft slabs up to one foot in depth in avalanche starting zones. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered by skiers, snowboarders or snowmachines that venture into steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Old dangerous deep slabs up to five feet in depth also exist and would present a significant hazard if triggered.
