Jasper.
Wind slabs are main concern, but with persistent cold temperatures, watch for surface faceting and loose snow chasing you down a run.
Bear in mind that even a minor injury can have serious consequences in the cold. Pack the extra jacket!
Partly cloudy skies, light winds and cold temperatures forecasted with daytime high temperatures expected to be around -25C.
Cold temperatures promoting surface facetting. HST (25-55cm) bonding well to underlying surfaces (facets, surface hoar and wind affected snow depending on location). Wind slabs in the ALP and exposed TL. A well settled mid-pack, except in areas with a shallow snowpack, can be found throughout the forecast region. Variable HS (90-200cm).
No avalanches observed or reported in the last few days.
