Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Dense soft slabs to three feet in depth exist on steep wind loaded aspects at higher elevations. High winds continue to add snow and stresses to these slabs. On Thursday riders triggered an avalanche which completely buried one snowmobiler and partially buried two others. Fortunately this was followed by a successfull rescue by other party members. Similar events could be triggered today by riders or skiers. Avoid steep banks, gullies and avalanche prone terrain.
