Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Dense slabs to two feet in depth lie on slopes at higher elevations. These slabs could be triggered today by backcountry users on steep slopes particularly near rocky and cliff areas and have the potential to pull out older, deep layers of weak snow. If significant warming occurs this afternoon, the chance for these slabs to release and the chance for wet slides will increase on steep sunlit slopes at all elevations.
