Moderate to strong SW winds continue to strip windward areas and build stiff wind slabs on lee features at treeline and in the alpine. Snow is expected to taper off Wednesday night but westerly winds will continue to redistribute the storm snow.

Deep Persistent Slabs

This facetted weak layer is most easily detected in shallow snowpack areas at tree line and above. Steep rocky alpine faces still seem to produce avalanches on this layer although these observations are infrequent.
