Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE in steep avalanche terrain where west and southwest winds have formed pockets of dense slabs up to two feet in depth over the last weeks. These dense slabs lie upon a weak basal layer of faceted October snow. These slabs are gaining stability and will be harder to trigger. Riders and skiers could cross them several times before they release. Avalanches are unlikley in areas not underlain by a weak layer of faceted snow at the base of the snowpack.
