The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE. New snow and wind has formed soft slabs to a foot in depth that upon firm melt-freeze and wind blown surfaces on steep leeward aspects. These slabs could be easily triggered to today by backcountry riders and skiers. The possibility also continues for the weight of one person to trigger large, deep hard slides that lie upon weak snow near the base of the snowpack. If triggered these hard slabs would result in severe consequences.
