Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE in steep avalanche terrain where old dense slabs up to three feet in depth formed by west to southwest winds lie upon weak faceted October snow. These slabs are gaining stability and will be harder to trigger. Riders and skiers may cross them several times and/or get further out onto them before they release. Avalanches are unlikley in areas not underlain by a weak basal layer of old faceted old snow.
