A mostly stable early season snowpack exists. Above 9000 feet in extreme terrain or on isolated terrain features a slight chance exists to trigger new shallow surface slabs formed by wind, or older wind slabs to depths of 18 inches. Below 9000 feet, avalanches are even more unlikely in the snowpack that has shallow snow depths.
