Highlights

The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE today. Areas of unstable snow persist. Slabs one to three feet in depth lie upon weak layers of buried surface hoar and faceted snow. These slabs could be triggered today in cliff areas and in steep wind loading starting zones of major avalanche paths. On some slopes skiers or riders could cross a slab multiple times before a trigger spot is hit and the slope fails.
