Continually assess for wind slab as you gain elevation.
Be prepared to back off slopes if the surface gets moist from solar input. This time of year it only takes a short period of strong solar to increase hazard.
Winds have varied over the past few days meaning wind slab could be found on all aspects. . The most reactive wind slabs could be found on sun exposed slopes where they may have formed over a crust.
On Saturday explosives triggered one size one wind slab. No other significant avalanches were observed in the region.
5 to 10 cm of recent snow has been redistributed by northeast winds. This snow sits over a new crust on steep solar slopes and previously wind effected surfaces on other aspects. The snow surface will likely become moist when the sun comes out.
A melt-freeze crust with facets above, sits 50 to 120 cm deep. It has not produced any avalanches in the past couple weeks.
The mid to lower snowpack is considered well bonded at this point. Currently we are not seeing the same basal weak layers and reactivity that many of the neighboring regions are experiencing this season.
