Highlights

Potential remains, in isolated areas, for snowmobilers to trigger dangerous deep persistent slab avalanches. The wet snow avalanche hazard will be low at all elevations in the morning and will increase to moderate below an elevation of 8,000 feet in the afternoon. Monitor conditions and avoid very steep terrain features in areas where snow surfaces have become wet. Glide avalanches and roof slides are possible.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Intermittent snow showers with light accumulations will occur over the mountains overnight. Periods of light snowfall are possible on Saturday. Temperatures will be in the 20s at the higher elevations and rise into the 40s in the valleys. Winds will become westerly at 5 to 15 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be moderate in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River/Southwest Trails areas where the potential remains, in isolated areas, for deep persistent slab avalanches to be triggered by snowmobiles. In all areas the wet snow avalanche hazard is expected to be low in the morning and may increase to moderate at the lower elevations after snow surfaces soften.
