At the higher elevations the snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Due to shallow snow depths, avalanches hazards are not a concern below an elevation of 9,000 feet.

This system will move in from the north to the south. Snowfall is expected to develop Friday night. It will be a fast moving system that should bring several inches of snow to the mountains by noon on Saturday. Temperatures in the mountains will be in the teens and 20s on Friday and Saturday. Westerly winds will increase ahead of this approaching system. The general avalanche will continue to be LOW above an elevation of 8,500 feet. Insufficient snow depths exist for avalanche hazards below that elevation.
