Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The general avalanche danger is LOW above 9000 feet and not rated below that elevation due to low or no snow coverage. The six to eight inches of snow that has fallen over the last few days lies upon a shallow and stable snowpack. Avalanche activity is not expected today. Backcountry travelers are urged to use caution as many hazards exist just below the snow surface.

Temperatures in the mountains are to have lows near ten degrees with daytime highs in the low twenties. Valleys will also start on the cold side with overnight lows dropping into the teens. Afternoon temperatures at the low elevations are to reach the mid to upper thirties. The general avalanche danger will be LOW on Sunday above 7500 feet in the Tetons and above 8500 feet in the Togwotee and Southwest trails areas. Below those elevations, the snowpack remains thin or non-existent and avalanche danger is not yet rated.
