Avalanche Summary
We expect the natural avalanche activity to slow as rain amounts taper into Tuesday and freezing levels gradually drop. However human-triggered avalanches will remain possible.
If you're heading out in the backcountry, please consider sharing any observations on the Mountain Information Network
Snowpack Summary
Much of the snowpack will become saturated with the current precipitation and high freezing levels. Depending on elevation, the upper snowpack sits over a shallow cover of crusts and old snow, or directly on the ground. The snowline will be creeping up as rain washes it away at lower elevations.

Terrain and Travel Advice
- The more the snow feels like a slurpy, the more likely loose wet avalanches will become.
- If you stay late on the mountain, make sure you wait until the surface begins to freeze before anticipating a decrease in danger.
- Early season avalanches at any elevation have the potential to be particularly dangerous due to obstacles that are exposed or just below the surface.
Problems
Loose Wet
Loose wet avalanches will remain reactive until temperatures drop to a level that allows the upper snowpack to refreeze.
