Avalanche Summary

No recent avalanches have been reported. Field observations have been limited, if you're out in the backcountry please consider submitting your observations to the MIN.

Snowpack Summary

Alpine surfaces are heavily wind-affected, but 10 to 20 cm of soft snow may still be found in wind-sheltered terrain. Check this White Pass MIN for more details.

In White pass area, a spotty layer of surface hoar may sit below recent snow, buried around 20 to 30 cm deep in isolated areas. Below 1500 m, a thick melt-freeze crust is buried 50 to 100 cm deep.

Around Haines, the midpack is generally well settled and bridges the base of the snowpack which contains 20 to 30 cm of facets and depth hoar. We have not seen any reactivity on these layers.

The average snowpack depth at treeline is around 200 cm, as deep as 300 cm in Haines.
