We haven't received reports of avalanche activity since the rain stopped. Looking forward, we don't expect avalanche activity anywhere the snow surface is a hard melt-freeze crust.

Snowpack Summary

A dusting of snow overlies a hard melt-freeze crust at treeline and alpine elevations. Wet snow or dirt exist below treeline.

Various buried melt-freeze crusts are found throughout the snowpack.

Treeline snow depth generally ranges from 50 to 120 cm. Snow depth diminishes rapidly below 1000 m.

Mostly cloudy with no precipitation, south treeline wind 10 to 20 km/h, treeline temperature -1 °C, freezing level 1200 m.

Monday

Mix of sun and cloud with no precipitation, south treeline wind 20 km/h, treeline temperature -2 °C, freezing level 1100 m.

Tuesday

Cloudy with 5 to 10 cm snow above 1000 m and rain below, south treeline wind 60 km/h, treeline temperature 0 °C, freezing level 1300 m.

Wednesday

Cloudy with 2 to 5 cm snow or light rain then clearing, southeast treeline wind 20 km/h, treeline temperature 2 °C, freezing level 1800 m.
