Monday afternoon a small system will deposit up to 10 cm of snow in the alpine. The danger will rise to moderate. Redistribution of the new will create windslabs in lee areas. This will cover up the once conspicuous surface hoar, take note.

Isolated wind slabs up to 100cm thick in the high alpine are still triggerable in steep terrain. Thinner snowpack areas on gully sidewalls and unsupported slopes will be most vulnerable.

Cornices

Strong winds from earlier in the month have created large cornices on lee (mostly easterly) aspects. Several large cornice collapses have been observed over the past week. These cornices could be a big enough to trigger a deep slab.
