Summary

Weather Forecast

Gradual warming trend will continue with light winds and no precipitation for Thursday.  Light precipitation and cloudy skies are forecast starting on Friday and into the weekend.

Snowpack Summary

Significant settlement in past few days. The main weakness is a sandwich of crusts and facets at the mid to lower snowpack.

Avalanche Summary

Over the past few days, several 1.5 to 2 thin slab avalanches on southerly aspects around treeline have been reported in the Maligne area.

Loose Dry

Dry loose snow avalanches are still possible in steep rocky and unsupported terrain.  Solar triggering is likely with forecasted sunny skies.
Avoid exposure to terrain traps where the consequences of a small avalanche could be serious.The volume of sluffing could knock you over; choose your climb carefully and belay when exposed.
