Weather system set to drift through the region Tuesday and Wednesday; up to 25 cm new snow and moderate to strong winds.

Avoid areas where wind loading is observable and present during the storm.

Weather Forecast

A series of pacific lows tracking inland will bring strong westerly winds and significant snowfall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Details here: Mountain Weather Forecast.

Snowpack Summary

The shallow snowpack areas will be faceting and loosing support underfoot though much of the forecast region due to the sustained cold temps. Windslabs and wind effect in exposed areas. Oct. and Nov. crusts preserved in the mid and lower snowpack; both seem have a good bond to the overlaying snow.
