Storm Slabs

Soft to hard slabs up to 40cm thick can be found in gullies and lee terrain. The condition is less prevalent at Treeline where the wind effect is less.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Wind Slabs

Moderate W and NW winds are slowly adding load to the slab features which have weak basal facetted crystals. Some whumphing was observed in the Bald Hills near Malign Lake today. The alpine snowpack depths are highly variable.

Elevations: Alpine.

Likelihood: Possible
